Website Downtime Bulletin 10/07/09

Hi Everyone,

Due to issues with our web server being under unusual stress at the moment due to all the increased traffic, we need to temporarily close the main www.swgemu.com website. There are bugs in the site which are causing unusually high system strain, and it is affecting the performance of the forums, bug tracker, and even the TC, causing crashes and timeouts.

We hope to have the bugs fixed in the next few weeks, and until we are happy with the performance of the site, it will remain offline. The main web address will continue to re-direct to the forums until then. We are also looking to acquiring more memory for our server to help deal with the increased traffic.

Would this downtime also be why I can't log onto the server? Tried to get on a few minutes ago and it says either my User/Pass is incorrect. :/

i am getting that too also on my other pc i have got message i am banned from the fourms and for says the ban will never be lifted but it ok on this pc

Hopefulley, it will clear up the forbiden error I have been getting for well over 4 months...I initially can load the forums, but over time I get that error. :|

Well I have been seeing a lot more server shutdowns recently. Could this be the source of all that?

If so, I hope you get it all worked out, and if the server will be down for some time, I have other ways to keep myself occupied, so I'll just go dorment like I did the last time major work was being done.

Sounds like now is the time for a few donations to the server. The official word is that they are looking for more memory. More memory means more stability for the Increased capacity. Gawd I love to hear those words... Anyhow, I think that some folks will find thier way to this page that wouldnt find thier way ordinarily to see one of the tiny places it is posted on how you can help by Donating. So I thought I'd post it here

An here I believed it was a result of the rather odd network running in this house. Now if only the devs and admins here could fix Facebook that might actualy work right too.
