In an attempt to keep the community more informed on the progress being made by the development team, we'll start providing biweekly wrap up/updates. There's no set schedule for these, but we'll try to get them up around the 1st and 15th of each month. Most of this information is readily available on the forums and IRC. This is just a means of putting it all in one place to make things easier on you.

The following info was gathered by using the dev tracker (http://www.swgemu.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2831). It allows you to easily track what the devs are posting on the forums.

On the topic of the Vader running through walls, Oru replied with:

he is simply using the dark-side of the force

this bug is becuse we still don't have a proper height map of the terrains, will be fixed sometimes soon along with jumpy npc movement

He shed some light on what the devs' plans are.

about the future, we are concentrating on creatures, houses, vendors and items now. when we are somewhat done with all the above just then we are going to start to implement crafting

He also cleared up the status of clustering.

a little correction, clustering is not completely done but it's up to a point where we can start working on game features again. the plan is to grind most the features out now and finish clustering sometimes llater

For those with a good eye, you may have noticed all the characters are the same height on the test center.

height will be fixed in the next update.

TA also went on a bug squashing spree last week. Click the arrows to see which bugs he fixed.

Fixed.

Fixed.

DB bug fixed.

Fixed.

Should be fixed.

As for what the devs are currently working on, TheAnswer is working on guild terminals. Ultyma is working on vendors and blue frogs with some help from Oru. Oru is also working on NPC AI. Ramsey is still working on his terrain editor. You should be hearing more about it soon(tm).

That's all for now. May the schwartz be with you.

EDIT
We've added individual forums for EACH profession. Please report problems relating to special attacks and incorrect modifiers and such. This will help us get things rebalanced and more to your liking.

Jesus Christ, thank God for bi-weekly updates. It's rather frustrating being kept partially in the dark.

P.S. Other than my Hedonistic tendencies, I am in no way religious.

I tried a few times last night and couldn't get on. I'm not worried, though. It usually means progress.

Since they're fixing things like player height, have they also fixed the whole male-characters-wearing-female-model-clothing thing? I saw no mention of it in any of their searched posts.
I'm excited to see all this progress. Keep it up! KotOR is fun and all, but it's getting boring by myself.

Very nice I like all the fixes and can't wait to see all the new stuff on TC. Also question I read in one of the Fixes TA did they all said the IP for TC has changed. I can not get on IRC/MIRC cause my college blocks the ports was wondering if it was at all possible if someone could PM me the new IP? I'm thinking thats the reason I haven't been able to connect for the past 2 weeks;).

Question to Devs

To test for bugs and balance on proffs is it possible to "turn off" the buffs and return the character to its original pre-buffed default in order to see how the ham costs and damage amounts are for each individual attack/special. I think it would be easier to test for problems using the default ham values without the insane re-charge from the substats

If it would be too problematic, I understand

Thanks much

i like that idea but since most of the professions arent working properly i think it would just be a waste of time, not to mention we only have select weapons to test with, a cdef pistol wont take much out of u where as the power hammer or one of the other weps that are up on the food chain would

Relentless

Just a side note, but don't you mean bimonthly updates, since you mentioned that they would be on the 1st and 15th of each month?

I always thought that bimonthly meant two times a week and biweekly was two times a week...

So then it is every two weeks. Gotcha. :)

I believe what Farsun is trying to say is that the terrain editor program that Ramsey is working on is a b**** and a half to work on. In order to get the terrain in-game to draw correctly and the vehicles to respond correctly to the terrain is no easy task, and the fact that Ramsey is slamming it to get it to work for us, if friggin' awesome.

I don't see why everyone is so impatient about updates.

The developers will update us when they can, you will get the update when you get the update.

Smusatto
11-04-2007, 02:24 AM
I was waiting on Ramsey to work out the client situation so it could be included in the update. He decided to make it a seperate one instead. Again, there's no set schedule for these. We just aim to get them out around the begining and the middle of the month. Please don't get offended if they're a few days later than when you expect them. The new update has been posted (http://swgemu.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6849). Enjoy.
