TC:Nova Wipe & Object Restructure Launch 10/1/2010

At 12:30am on 1st October 2010, TC:Nova was taken down for a full wipe along with an update to OR Revision 2504 (https://www.assembla.com//code/swgemu/subversion/changesets/2504). It is now online and open to start testing.

Over 250 people packed Coronet for the final celebrations - the main area of Coronet was completely full as per the game client's limits.

Thanks to everyone for your enthusiasm and vigor. The main focus for the next two weeks will be stability and a secondary focus on starter professions.

Notes and Updates

10/1/10 - TC:Nova Updated to Revision 2506 (https://www.assembla.com//code/swgemu/subversion/changesets/2506) to fix a number of crashes

10/2/10 - For the STABILITY testing focus we have right now, please login multiple instances of the client. Do not make a second account, but do create a number of characters - the character limit has been lifted for testing. We need to push towards that 1,500 logins :)

Good news! Thanks for the update.

So, not that I'm trying for an ETA or anything, but does this mean that the forum and account wipe is imminent? As in, will we need to re-register like within the next day? I'm just curious if I should be expecting that the next time I try accessing the forums.

No, we still don't have a time-frame for the new website and forums unfortunately. I would expect more imminent TC wipes within the next few weeks, however.

Concerning the basic professions and testing, would it be better to just "grind" marksman/brawler and see during the grind if there is any bug ? instead of using blue frogs...

Yea this is what I do personaliy, and why I wish they would remove professions from the frog. With you having free credits its not like you can't get what you need for the training.

Was just looking through the OR status posts and noticed something, actually, DIDN'T notice something. Green - mostly working. Orange - partly working. Red - planning stages. Black - ??? Did I miss the note that tells what all the stuff in black is?

Black isn't part of the colored status levels, it's used for: titles/sections, notes, supporting details, instructions, etc.

And, you said that if the page doesn't load, that it's offline, the page did load. You didn't say load what.
As for asking about server status, I didn't directly ask, I just pointed out an error message, thinking there was something wrong with my SWG Emu.

Here is what you do:

Try going into your Java Control Panel, go to the Advanced tab, and under Security section, goto the "Mixed Code" settings. Then change them to "Enable -hide warning and run with protections"

I recall I had the same problem and this fixed it. I believe it's one of the recent Java updates is suddenly taking issue with the signage of the Java IRC applet used here or some such.

Restart your browser after that.

Announced that it will be a few more hours of downtime we figure. So I should have said, once its back up, try to break it again by logging in as many toons as possible :)

I've been having java problems too, and did as suggested with the settings change in java. But I still get a blank warning pop up. Any other suggestions to fix it?

As far as I know the system wont allow more than 2 toons on the same account to run simultaneously anyway.
The rule is No more than 1 account thats majorly enforced.

Check it on IRC.

If you don't know what IRC is, do some googling and some wikipedia reading. You'll need an IRC client to connect.

Start your client, then:

/server irc.swgemu.com
/join #swgemu

You can also use Java based IRC client from LPE, Just press the "chat" button and chose your user name.

Or you can use the same client from this forum, no need to "chose" a user name though, your forum handle will be used by default.
