TC:Nova Wipe 10/3/2010

At approximately 6:00 PM EST, TC:Nova was wiped of the following items:

All Characters
All Inventories
All Structures & Cities
All Auctions/Banks
All Datapads (includes vehicles/waypoints/etc)
All Resource Spawns
We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and hope you understand this is a necessary step as the project progresses. More specifically, this was done to prevent errors and problems occurring in the client caused by the existence of over 270 cities placed galaxy-wide. There is now a limit of 20 cities per planet. Thank your for all of your support and happy testing!

Guys please don't play this game for a while if you expect your character to stick around for any length of time

i personally think its not a bad thing to have a limit, makes it more like official and also makes the cities more populated.

Totally understandable and expected. Thanks for all the hard work dev team. It is so awesome that this server and idea even exists. I have really gotten back into SWG lately on the emu server and I am loving it!

Shouldn't use the name Bob anyway

It gives us an opportunity to plant houses and installations again and perhaps narrow down the causes of some of the structure bugs that have been occurring. All good for testing and project progress.

Thanks Dame for the update :)

I must admit when I logged on weekend I wondered how we supported so many cities, and the server was up and down touch and go, the wipe was needed.

I hope no one actually expected their characters altered by Blue Frogs and 20,000,000 credits would be kept.

Thanks team, for the work on making the game fully functional. I personally can't wait for Bio-Engineers

best practice, expect a wipe every day (not saying it would ever happen like this) but if you expect it, then you will never be disappointed if it doesn't and when it does, you should be like "oh, i was expecting this today, so no surprise.".....

Meh was gone all day at a function and someone was kind enough to swipe my name.

Same thing happened to me, but I was able to recover it only because my forum account name is Mahonra as well.

But don't worry too much about it. There will be more wipes and each time you will have the chance to grab your name back.

over 270 cities placed galaxy-wide

That's more than the number of cities across all SOE's servers isn't it?

Updates are allways welcome and with all the good work and progress the devs made (according to mantis and the assembla-timeline) with the OR the last days a wipe too :-)

yeah wasnt the limit like 4-5 to a planet or something?

Tatooine, Corellia and Naboo had a limit of 20 I believe

Rori, Dantooine, Lok had a limit of 10.

If I remember right. (Though it could be 10 and 5).

I know the three main ones had a higher limit than the smaller ones.

I've checked several cities, no way those have the miniminal limits of 10 residents and even higher to get the shuttleports etc :). I'm not sure those limits are in place right now.

My own city sunk into Rori's ground on my test :)
