Greetings and welcome to the SWGEmu End of Summer update. Things have been relatively quiet from the SWGEmu Team since the Object Restructure (OR) began over a year ago, but we are pleased to announce that things are moving forward and will be back in full testing mode soon.

<hr class="inhr">
http://image.ocdsoft.com/images/k42gi8fm53c20kst9wwa.png<a name="Object" href="#toc">Object Restructure News</a>

For those of you who might be unfamiliar with the term, the OR is a comprehensive standardization of all of the code for SWGEmu. Over the years, many different developers have all worked together to submit code to the project. While this has allowed the Developer team to make great progress in recreating the Pre-CU experience as a whole, it has made submitting and integrating new code difficult. You can think of the old code base as a huge, overstuffed filing cabinet. All of the information is in there somewhere, but everyone who put things into the cabinet used a different filing system. The OR has taken everything out of the filing cabinet, pruned files, reorganized the folders, and attached new legible labels to everything. Ramsey wrote an excellent, more technical description here (http://www.swgemu.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23192).

During the OR, in addition to standardizing the code base, a decision was made to switch from MySQL to BerkeleyDB in order to both reduce CPU usage and help us achieve our goal of eliminating crash-based rollbacks. Code standards have now been set, which will significantly reduce the amount of time it will take to commit code changes to the official, public test center (TC: Nova).

Beginning in August, the OR code has been released to TC: Nova during semi-regular intervals (Please see this post: Daily OR Tests (http://www.swgemu.com/forums/showthread.php?p=709788#post709788) for further information about server uptimes). We are very pleased to move this code out of internal testing and onto TC: Nova. Hopefully you are just as excited to test the new, more stable code base.

We know that everyone is getting geared up for the inevitable old TC: Nova code database wipe and we are targeting some time in early September. We do not know the exact date it will be ready, but we will be pushing the OR code to TC: Nova on a permanent basis once a few more key systems are in place. You can track the progress of these changes on the SWGEmu Assembla Timeline (http://trac2.assembla.com/swgemu/timeline).

Please be aware that major fixes and additions to the OR code once on TC: Nova can require database wipes. We may also have to wipe the database to “reset” the test center characters for specific testing purposes. We will do our best to give advance notice if there is one coming, but please be prepared for frequent database wipes.

Our newest department, headed by Kaiegos, is the Web Development team. Currently, we have SWGEmu information scattered across several different sites and services. Some of these include Mantis, SWGEmu.com, SWGEmu wiki, IRC and the Events page. In the next month or so, we will be attempting to link all of the separate portions of our web presence into a single login system.

The Web Development team is currently testing the latest versions of our software along with some new pieces in a separate test bed environment. All of the SWGEmu services will be brought together under a single registration web page that will create all of your logins automatically. The goal is to consolidate your experience and logins for this project to make it more enjoyable and easier to manage by the Staff.

<hr class="inhr">
http://www.maxmcc.net/swgemu/icons/Chat-bubble-32.png<a name="mantis" href="#toc">Mantis Bug Tracker Update</a>

As of this weekend, the Mantis bug tracking site is now working again. One of the side effects of the old system going down was the loss of all the login information. Luckily, the database is intact, so all of the TC: Nova bugs have been closed and archived. Please report only OR bugs from now on.

Since the Web development team is working towards creating a centralized user registration system for one login to all services, please take this opportunity to re-register on the Mantis site with the same account name and password combination that you use on the forums. This will streamline the process, and eliminate any chance of you being locked out of the bug reporting system after the credentials are combined.

If you are still having issues with Mantis, please contact TAfirehawk on the forums (http://www.swgemu.com/forums/member.php?u=41440#contactinfo) or at tafirehawk@swgemu.com.

http://maxmcc.net/swgemu/icons/Tool-32.png<a name="staffrestructure" href="#toc">Staff Restructure</a>

While the Object Restructure was underway, the SWGEmu Staff was also restructured. All of the staff positions were placed into one of two large branches: Test Center Operations and Development. If you would like to take a look at the new staff structure, an overview of the current structure can be found here. (http://docs.google.com/fileview?id=0B4u-IIuMfONHMzNjZTFkMTMtMTkxYS00ZjllLWE0NGEtN2ZhMjIxZD Q2Yzcx&hl=en&authkey=CNLsp6QJ)

Test Center Operations:

Odwill is the current Test Center Director, supervising this branch of the staff, with Kellina as the Support Manager, supervising the GMs and Moderators, and Max managing the Communications and Event Coordination departments. While Max is taking a short leave of absence, please feel free to contact the acting Communications Manager, El’layn.

Any and all ingame problems can be reported either using support@swgemu.com or joining #swgemusupport on irc. Please direct requests for two accounts from the same IP address to the support@swgemu.com address. If you have password or other account issues, please email community@swgemu.com.

Development:

Oru is the Development director. The Core3 Manager, TheAnswer, supervises both the Core3 Coding and Client Developer teams. TAfirehawk is the Quality Assurance (QA) manager, and Kaigeos manages the new Web Development team.

Any and all issues relating to testing can be directed to quality@swgemu.com or reported on Mantis.

It's been a wild year. We have been working hard, but there hasn't really been anything "interesting" to show for it. We are finally at a point where the work of the last year is really starting to take shape in the form of real feature updates. We hope you have enjoyed the TC for the last year, and realize that we put it up so that the members of our community didn't have to twiddle their thumbs for a year. Now it is time to get back to testing, updates, and development business as usual. Thanks for the patience and understanding and helping us towards our goal of 1.0.
Hello again folks. As you all can now hopefully see, there has been an enormous amount of work taking place behind the scenes in nearly every facet of the SWGEmu project. I know it may not seem like it at times but we truly are working our tails off around here to bring back what was once lost to us all. In the past quarter aside from development continuing with the Object Restructure; the Community Team has been undergoing it's own 'OR' of sorts. We took a hard look at how the staffing was put together for the entire SWGEmu project to discover what could be improved upon. We worked hard to streamline and organize departments to increase coverage and efficacy. Our end goal is provide all of you with the highest level of support and community possible in a 100% volunteer project. I'd like to thank our great community for your continued support of the SWGEmu project. We are all in this together. Keep your eyes and ears open in the months ahead for new community and support features.
As you all can see (http://trac2.assembla.com/swgemu/timeline) for the past weeks the developers have been working a lot trying to prepare the new codebase for public testing.
A lot of systems have been upgraded and new ones introduced that required a lot of
work on core3.

Thanks to the "old" NOVA codebase we learned what we did wrong and what
we can improve to gain more stability and consistency. A lot of time has been spent
reversing the designs that SOE has used in the client, that gave us a lot of insight of
what the server needs to archieve a fluent not only protocol communication, but at a higher
level, object interaction with the client.
New designs, database backends, concurrent techniques have been introduced and still being
tested and investigated.

We feel that we reached a point where a lot of the systems need a more serious stress testing, and we are
working as hard and fast as we can to implement a reasonably playable server so you can have
some "fun" too while we polish the gameplay. We are all excited about the upcoming updates and
hope you enjoy them too.
A big thanks to everyone helping with the daily OR testing.
The Quality Assurance Department is very busy testing the OR. The department did go through a long "vacation" period waiting for the Internal Test Center, ITC, to be loaded with the OR but now the vacation is over, back to work! We have brought in some new Staff as well as a new team called the Community Tester Team ( http://www.swgemu.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68676 ). The CTT is made up of non-staff volunteers that have special access to testing the OR as well as a private forum to interact with Staff.

This is a very exciting and busy time for the QA Team. I would like to thank all of those helping test and reporting their findings.
With the Web Development Team being so new I feel it's only appropriate telling you a little bit about myself. I'm a 2004 graduate of the Pittsburgh International Academy of Design and Technology with an Associates Degree in Specialized Business having a Major in Computer Information Management. For those of you who don't know. That boils down to some Programming basic primers in visual basic and c++ using the .net framework, java script, assembler, COBOL, Ada and Unix shell scripting. Also a good deal of Computer Hardware and Networking including Active Directory again just a primer. I would also like to thank all of those who have applied to the Web Development team and express my gratitude to the members of the team for all their hard work.
I got a promotion at work and the love of my life is moving in with me soon =] Oh ... and I have a ton of time to code the OR again hehe. Life is good. Look for exciting changes around here as we move towards 1.0!
I just wanted to say that I'm back for quite a while and working my way back into the code with missions. At this very moment, I am getting deliver missions to work and laying out the structure for the rest of the mission types. I should pick up some steam as soon as I get comfortable again and I'll be adding in all the types of missions functionally. If you want to know why I wsa gone for so long, then just know that ISPs generally don't like it when you can't pay for their services.

The amount of AFK Camping of Spawns and Mobs on TC:Nova has drastically been reduced and we thank everyone for observing our policy on this. However, a few are still camping Spawns and then going AFK. Just a reminder that the camping of Spawns and Mobs are violations to our Rules and Policies. Overall, the community has been great on TC:Nova and your Support Team appreciates your continued help in making SWGEmu the best that it can be.
I've been cruising the forums and I can't help but say that I'm a bit disappointed in what I've seen. There's been quite a bit of forum PvP going on of late and although I appreciate healthy competition and rivalry, I'd like to remind everyone to tone it down a bit to keep from incurring penalties on your account. I'm pretty laid back when it comes to this stuff, but lets try to keep it somewhat civil. That means no over the top name calling, no trolling, basic stuff really. Lets keep this community friendly and helpful for all.

Maintain patience; keep the game, forums, and IRC clean and it'll help the development team to do what they do, which is the end-goal we're all looking for. The community plays a gigantic role in this whole process, and the more that you actively do to help, the faster we can all see the game we knew and loved resurrected into it's previous glory once again.
All of the QA staff have done an amazing job so far! As you can see by the list posted we still have a lot of things going on behind the scenes and will be working quickly, yet diligently, to get things ready for testers on Nova to squash bugs once the OR hits. As the structures leader I can't tell you how happy it makes me to see structures where they are now. Structures, in my opinion, are one of the things that make SWG worth it all the more! Can't wait till everyone gets a chance settle down in a house. Hope you have a spot picked out!

http://maxmcc.net/swgemu/icons/Chat-bubble-alt-32.png<a name="closing" href="http://www.swgemu.com/forums/showpost.php?p=717153#toc">Closing</a>

There is no way to overstate how much we appreciate your patience and support during the Object Restructure process. Every community member, past and present, has helped bring us to where we are today. Thank you, from each of the staff members, for your continued donations, patience and support. It is all of you that make this project as great as it is.

Until next time!

just curious but with the new housing and structure placement is there goin to be a limit on city building set into the code once OR is actually live 24/7 on TC or is it goin to be like it is now where you can spam city halls all over the planet and create a huge mess on planets?

Just askin cause it can get pretty silly having 500 cities on each planet from people creating 12 toons dropping city halls to talk crap to others in the community....

Well for the launch of OR on TC: Nova those things might not be fully ready. But remember that these things will be fixed as the OR progresses.

Current status as of TODAY:

Planet restrictions on city size are not in.

Faction bases are just placeable, not usable yet.

Guilds are not it yet.

Just take a look at the Trac Timeline (http://trac2.assembla.com/swgemu/timeline) and the speed at which we are committing changes to the OR codebase. Things are moving forward quickly.

That being said, we aren't going to take time out to code non-essential hotfixes like putting a superficial limit on cities per planet. When we code it right and commit it to OR, it will make it to NOVA. Properly.

Good job, but leave out the blue frogs. They just ruin half your testing.

You know, this would be a definite game changer here. I ground architect one brick at a time. Using resources I gathered, making a brick at a time I thought I was gonna die when I made my first guild hall by hand on day 5. Eventually, I had four structure factories going 24/7 (three almost always making nothing more than bricks) but getting to that point was a huge grind.

No gungan head statues either. :)

Put everything out without blue frogs and you will immediately solve the problem with too many cities being placed.

I hope this actually went out after I got booted tonight because they are actually doing it. Be nice to start from jump with everyone, a new economy, and a sprint for prime lots for cities. Plus with buildings everyone may spread away from cnet and you might be able to find people on other planets.

It's been exciting watching trac for the last couple of months (guess many of the old TC code modules(?) did work in the OR with just a little gussying up?), and it's great to see a long list of developers pitching in again. Thank you so much, all of you.

These games have been a passion for me for over a decade now, and I now really do think I might get to play one great MMORPG again before the whole industry cannonballs into the cesspool of dumbed down mediocrity. Again, thanks.

How long will the Blue Frogs be up? Blue Frogs ruin the fun. I understand we have to start out with them but just curious how long the will be up for.

Blue Frogs will be used for us to focus testing, like avoiding the grind to BH so we can kill all the Jedi real quick :) Things are on the BF now just to be there with little focus, but that will change as we move along.

And to some others, we want tons of things like cities all over to stress the server so it is more stable.

We will do our best to communicate what we want tested and make that match with the Blue Frog. Most of the time we don't want people wasting days of grinding to test something when we need feedback quicker than that.

Lovely news...

I followed this project from the very start (Or atleast from the create of my account)... And have experienced up side and down side in this project..

It have been a journey climping Mount Everest, started from the very buttom.. And now being able to touch the snow on the top of Mount Everest, and soon take the final stage, and head to the top...

Im pretty sure with this project coming along, SW:TOR and SWG:NGE would have a hard time standing up to it...

D*mn im happy that you guys work on this project, just to satisfy some Star Wars fans who have lost the most outstanding MMO ever made, and edited into one big pile of cr*p.

And yes, im only acting like this because ive been able to play on the server for a week now, and have fallen in love

Lets give it up for the :ewok:

So from what I've read, the OR is due early in September. However the servers seem to be down tonight (Sunday, 8/22) is there something going on tonight that I missed?

They are wiping the database

You know it was at least two years ago I was a Sophomore in Highschool who'd happened to find out how to download the game only to get online and find that it most consisted of several people in anchorhead glitching PvP and occasionally fighting Kyrats.

Fast Forward two years and I've graduated Highschool and working on starting a College Career. SoE's all but shut down mainstream NGE Galaxies and we have several thousand log ins a day on EMU. Between my best friend and I, the knowledge that the OR is maybe a week or two away is just to good and the fact that it's true is all the better.

Good job EMU staff
Almost time to go back a long time ago in a Galaxy far, far away.

Please don't confuse the release of OR as the release of a full featured live 1.0 SWGEmu. They are not the same. Releasing OR to NOVA will allow us to implement features at a blinding rate, but it will not start off fully featured. It will evolve into a fully featured 1.0 server.

How is someone supposed to level to an Elite profession is a couple of hours seeing as the OR gets wiped every day and no one is giving out Elite skills?

It's kind of hard to test Architect when it's impossible to level in the 4+ hours the OR is running.

just curious but with the new housing and structure placement is there goin to be a limit on city building set into the code once OR is actually live 24/7 on TC or is it goin to be like it is now where you can spam city halls all over the planet and create a huge mess on planets?

Just askin cause it can get pretty silly having 500 cities on each planet from people creating 12 toons dropping city halls to talk crap to others in the community....

This should be reportable. I had more than one little kid following me around while I tried to place buildings talking ****.

Any word on this. It got so annoying that I quit testing and just logged out.

a. This project has been going on for how long?
b. The coders are doing this pro bono.
c. No one is payhing for the enjoyment of thier work.

when do player cities come out?
Player cities are already on the OR and being tested. They need more work of course...but that is the point.
when do legit guilds come out
The guild terminals are already spawning in the guild halls. We only need convert Guilds over to the OR codebase and they will be as legitimate as they were Pre-CUwhen is the first big wipe? The first big wipe? The initial wipe moving from the current Nova codebase to the OR will occur in early September. No exact date is known yet. After that, wipes will occur as often as we need to in order to move forward with completing the server code. It could be each day, week, month. We will of course do our best to supply you with the means to test the testing focus efficiently.will the updates you put in stay (cuz i heard repairing your vehicle works now but it didnt for me :P)?
Of course they will stay. That's what the OR is all about.

If you're reffering to JTL (Jump to Lightspeed), then yes that was Publish 11 of Pre-CU (CU was Publish 15).

However the SWGEmu staff have stated that JTL is not a priority in terms of feature implementation, and the ground potion is the focus.

Hey. I haven't had much time to read through all the announcements and updates, so I was hoping someone could answer a quick question about SWGEmu in general.

My question is what is the player amount SWGEmu is looking for? Do you plan to expand further down the road with more servers? Or increase the amount of players 1.0 will have. I don't know if SWGEmu would be legal to go mainstream, but if it was, I'm sure with plenty advertising, endorsements, etc. it would attract A LOT more than just veterans of the old SWG. So I don't know which direction in the long run this is going... as I know this is a volunteer project, I was wondering if it will soon be marketed... of course i have no idea about the licensing and how it would work!

So I was just curious, thanks for the response in advance!

P.S. Sorry if these questions were answered in an announcement or previous updates, thanks!

My question is what is the player amount SWGEmu is looking for? Do you plan to expand further down the road with more servers? Or increase the amount of players 1.0 will have.

The focus right now is to get the emulator complete first :) That's the best advertising by itself.

The general plan for 1.0 is to have a fairly modular system with a number of options for potential server hosts. Community members will be able to host their own servers and modify them to add/remove/alter features as they see fit.

Our official v1.0 server code-named SunCrusher is still very much in the planning phase.

Our official v1.0 server code-named SunCrusher is still very much in the planning phase.

I think it would be a good idea to get a general consensus of what the majority of users on swgemu.com would want featured on the SunCrusher server. So that the majority would right away have a good "home" server from the start. This could be done by a vote, and kept active for maybe 1-2 months just to allow everyone enough time to vote. And then the minor majority would have to find an alternate server hosted by an outside party. Just an idea.

Zearth
08-25-2010, 05:10 PM
I have to disagree with you Eddy. Voting leads to chaos most of the time. Let the owners of a server set the rules that they want, and if they are good ones the server flies with a lots of people. If the over all effect of the server rules are bad then people walk with thier feet. Voting on a set of rules leads to a bad precidence....3 months laters you have a player base wanting to know why they can nto vote and have a say in things..then you get a flame war between players and the server admin gets a nice headache.
(the above is only my opinion based on experience with runnign servers)

A good admin will get the pulse of what they think the players want and try to marry that to thier vision of how they want a server to run. An Admin that is successful will generally have a plan and stick to it, but not to be so inflexable that they can not hear from the players and evaluate the changes asked for and how they will affect "thier" world.

One final thing to remember: in the end the admins are the ones providing the server, bandwidth and time to give you and I an enviroment that SoE/LA took away.

The way SunChrsher will be is already said (though details not given): pre-CU canon with the necessary tweaks devs consider neccessary to enhance the game and "fix" unbalances and the problems the game had in live.

SunCrusher is SWGEmu team's server so it is up to them set the rules, the voting is out of question and, as it was said, conflictive.
Since the community will be able to set their own customized servers, is pointless try to make SunCrusher a server for everybody, not mention that it is impossible and what it is impossible it is impossible and also not possible.

The current TC: Nova is and has been just for fun so continue to play until we take it down to put the OR code on it. The OR is definitely going on TC: Nova in September and it is a 100% wipe with absolutely no player data carried over.

what time is the or testing gonna be on in gmt+1 time?

Once the OR code is put on TC: Nova permanently, it will be running all the time for testing (except for outages and updates of course). The temporary OR tests on TC: Nova will not be happening as frequently any more.

JTL is much, much farther off than CH and DE. As some others have stated, the ground game is the priority and to even guess what year JTL will come to SWGEmu would be foolish.

The SWGEmu Team will always take into consideration the facts and opinions from the entire community. But obviously we can't do exactly what every player wants :) The idea for SunCrusher is for the Team to explore their own SWG ideas. Also remember that we are making SWGEmu PreCU v1.00 for all of the community servers, anybody will be able to host their own server as well as customize it to their own liking.

Was wondering are you guys hoping to have the Loot System completed before the OR is released? or will that be coming sometime after?

Loot is most certainly on our radar as a needed item. We are still putting new things into the OR code as well as fixing code so we can't be specific until TC: Nova is wiped and the OR code loaded.

None of these are being worked on at the moment but Politician is probably closer because of all the city work being done.

All profs have to be done but obviously something like Jedi has to be done carefully or no testing of anything else will happen.

As cRush said earlier, releasing the OR to TC: Nova full time is just the start, not the end to the emulator. The coders have done a ton and still have a ton to do. We will be telling the testers what to focus on and also using the Blue Frogs where necessary.

CH was, and remains a very hard profession to have in a Star Wars game. This is supposed to be a super advanced future, yet a guy with some pokemon balls can be a force on the battlefield? CH can work, but it needs alot of creativity and work from the Devs to make it a viable profession.

After the OR is released and the rolling wipe(s) stop, will the characters be permanent on the server during and after release 1.0, or will there be another large wipe post 1.0?

- This news brings me quintessential joy, and I'm quivery with anticipation for its release. I bought SWG and played it since launch through NGE +3 months, before finally giving in. Ever since I heard the rumors on the wind that this project, this beacon of hope was being developed by dedicated fans with the skill and dedication to see the dream become a reality, I have been eagerly waiting, watching the months toll by, and kept an eye on this project, returning to read the forums and dev's progress as it came available. Without a doubt I have not anticipated a release for a game as much as I have this. I've been rooting for you to return SWG to it's glory, and I applaud you for the years of work you have put into this project. Thank you everyone, you really inspire hope in a galaxy full of darkness, and I appreciate and respect all the work you have done.

When 1.0 will eventually be finished, SunCrusher (and the private server communities) will start out with a clean, wiped database. After that, our goal would be to run the server without wipes :)

As shilo said, CH is a tough profession to balance just like Jedi is tough. No one single profession or template should rule the battlefield in PvP or PvE or else we might at well get rid of half the profs like SOE did in the NGE.

As I have said before, the SWGEmu PreCu v1.00 release will be as accurate to publish 14.1 as humanly possible this many years after the fact with the addition of fixing A FEW bugs.

Personally I think quite a few things were wrong at publish 14.1 so I hope other server communities and SWGEmu can upgrade the situation quickly after v1.00 is released. As you can see in my sig, MCH was and is dear to my heart but it can be overpowering :)

probably needs to incorporate similarities to the traditional hunter class in most mmo's...pet does alright damage but nothing crazy but allows for interference between the target and the pet's master...and the handler uses ranged weaponry

might need to reduce total number of pets that can be controlled (out) at once to make it work in that fashion

To get to Pub14, and then to never again alter the game is to basically doom the emu from the start.

The devs need to add more content, fix old bugs, and let the game grow. Or else the game will just get stagnant!!

Let me clarify as I have said many times, the SWGEmu PreCU v1.00 will be as accurate to Publish 14.1 as humanly possible this many years after it was LIVE. Some obvious bugs will not be intentionally coded into it either.

AFTER v1.00 is release for ANYBODY to run a server, the Team here plans on expanding past Publish 14.1 but that is just OPTIONAL to the server communities.

Both on SunCrusher and server communities, mods can and will be done. These things are for the Future Server Ideas forum but of course they get mentioned in places like this too. Everybody can express their opinions, we just need to try to keep them in the right place on the forums :)

Suncrusher will begin as "vanilla" surely enough. That will be the starting point for the launch, and that'll be the code they'll put out for others to use. However, it won't likely remain "vanilla." It will be modified and adapted to fit the needs of the server.

I didn't say that. What I was referring to is the changes that WILL come to SC. I'm all for adding content, fixing bugs, new textures, quests, armor, or whatever else they wish to fix or add.

What I am against is changing systems already in place. We already know they are changing Jedi unlock system. It's been stated on multiple occasions. They will either make it to hard, or they will make it too easy... so is it going to be pre-pub 9 or NGE? Pick your poison.

There have been talks to balance out classes... WTH is this? the whole point for the system was you have 250 sp to put into whatever pro you can. If it makes you bigger and strong then the guy that is a plan jane pistoleer then so be it.

So when I said what I said it was referring to changing in game systems. SC should add/fix things, they shouldn't adjust anything that was the way it was built... biggest ex: you guessed it JEDI.

Well SOE had good reasons to scrap pre-cu. It was totally broken. As said before CH was by then underpowered and meanwhile CM was heavily overpowered. So you had a bunch people going the few viable builds while many professions were left ignored. CH still had some appeal for its uniqueness but why would you go Carbineer if Rifleman was better in almost every way possible?

Now I'm pretty sure you can't level Architect in the 3-4 hours the OR is running. You might level a few boxes in Artisan but thats about it. Then the next time you logon to the OR your toon is wiped and tou have to start order from scratch. So, my question is the one I asked the CSR who gave me that advise: How do you test Architect or amy elite profession if you have to level it in 4 hours?

Then the next time you logon to the OR your toon is wiped and tou have to start order from scratch. So, my question is the one I asked the CSR who gave me that advise: How do you test Architect or amy elite profession if you have to level it in 4 hours?

The update clearly says the OR will be pushed to TC: Nova full time, where is this 4 hours coming from except stuff tested 2+ weeks ago?

If we want to just test Architect, say for Master crafting, we will give Master Architect to the Blue Frog....as an example.

Only while major focus testing is in progress, and only those skills or items that the Devs want tested at that time. This is what I understand about the blue frogs on the OR.

Ide say we just wait and see what is there when we eventually log in, no use assuming anything or even pondering on something we do not know.Play the game as for what it is and then youll have your answeres.

From the testing I have managed to get in and do I have to say the OR looks good. I'll be going back to my old profession as an architect for sure

Phr33kman is right.

For those not wanting the Blue Frogs, well you just don't understand how they are meant to be used. They are there for specific testing of higher level things that, at times, we don't want you to "grind" for in the interest of time.

i think ppl just forget, that this TC is about testing - as the name says....

being against bluefrogs is being against testing - but for more fun... but this phase of SWGEmu is not for users having fun, instead its for having best possible testing conditions which means best possible and fastest development... and if this means, blue frogs for insta master prof X or Y, then this is the way to go

easy like that :)

having fun is for later, when 1.0 is released ;)

Yeah the OR is being put on Nova Test Center hint the word test :P I know I wouldnt want to grind day in and day out to master something we're trying to TEST. I'd be asking that same question when 1.0 hits which we wont have frogs then ofc.

Call me fussy but..... haven't we waited long enough for any news on when to expect the Bio-Engineer and Creature Handler Professions?

A majority of people left Live SWG because of SoE's destruction of these two awesome professions and yet it seems once again they've been put on the back, back waaaaaay back, back burner!

/askingWithSweetVoice Can you please please please let those of us who are interested in BE and CH know something!? Please? Pretty please with splenda on top?

I will bet that at least 90% of the 19,570 TC users would also like to know what the future holds for BE and CH.

Keep readying. That question was answered some 50 times already after this announcement was posted.

Those two systems require parts of almost every other system to be in place, that's why they will be some of the last to be completed. We are also anxious to work on them. Just be patient

Every profession will be in the game eventually....we just can't do it in one week. :p
