As Ramsey stated, it is inevitable to have to revisit old code and improve upon it. McMahon did a fabulous job uncovering the packet work needed to make installations work, but the code needed to be cleaned up tremendously in order to be usable/expandable.
As we develop, we learn more and more about the way SOE did things, and as we learn more and more about the way SOE did things, we have to revamp old code to suit our growing aspirations of perfect emulation. |

You guys are awesome! Everytime I log into nova, I get all giddy with how amazing it is. Great to see the progress with structures and missions. Also, as far as CH goes, this time around my computer will be able to handle you bastages sending your beasties after me...
I look forward to re-establishing Darkfire on tatooine. Exciting! |

Revamps and rewrites are a positive step forward, always.
Beyond learning how SOE did things, this is an obvious leap forward in making the server more extensible, so that there are less bugs, they're easier to find when they occur and make it much easier for server admins to implement their own feature base. You'd think that people planning their own black metal servers would have a bit more foresight and clarity in their perceptions of the programming process. The ITC sounds like a great implementation, I figured there always was a few, but having a QA specific one is aces. Congrats on 6 days. |

Then do me a favor and post serious replies and leave your 'jokes' off the forum. It incites negativity and tends to suppress the spirits of those people you're harassing to code faster.
