Theres nothing to do server side really. We assign each "terrain file" an ID. If you want to spawn an npc there just have to set the planet id to that terrain file.

If people want to recreate the salvageable planets then they'll be able to do that through scripting and the db. We as SWGEmu devs don't handle those extra planets any different from normal ones.

Nice! So lets say if we wanted to take a usable planet and change it into swgemods Taanab, then it would work?

yes you could do that currently if you wanted to. All you have to do is rename the Tenaabs terrain files to what Tatooines are. Then it would think the terrain for tenaab is tats terrain and Tattooine would become Tenaab. At least thats how I think it works. Also you can do that currently with SWGEMU or even with the NGE.

You dont even have to do that. taanab has its own terrain file, so you just have to change your character planet id to spawn there. We will release a list of every planet/terrain file and their corresponding ids.

I'm a little confused, so when you add Tanaab can you add it as a totally new planet or do you have to replace an original?

Its great to see the start of these Q&A sessions. Things like this are what will bring community together (both active members and the many lurkers that are around) and attract more people to this project

Also, in my opinion it is important for the community to not press the developers for too much information as they do need to focus on the project at hand. We do not want this to turn this into a "give them (the community) an inch and they take a mile" situation which I am sure would upset the whole SWGEmu team.
