SWGEmu offers the use of its services (the "SWGEmu Network") to all users without prejudice. Before using any of the Services provided by SWGEmu, please read and understand the following Terms. You acknowledge by using the SWGEmu Network and participating in any projects herein that you have read and understand these Terms. If you disagree or do not accept the terms set forth in this document, do not use the SWGEmu Network or any projects hosted within it.
1. ACCOUNT GUIDELINES
SWGEmu Accounts are used to access the SWGEmu Network, including but not limited to: the SWGEmu Forums, Website, Test Centre(s) and IRC Server. All SWGEmu Users must follow the following rules in respect to their SWGEmu Account:
- 1.1 Multiple SWGEmu Accounts are not permitted. Each user may only have one account. Measures are incorporated to detect multiple user accounts.
- 1.2 SWGEmu Accounts are non-transferable. Registered users are responsible for any actions that take place on their accounts or private messaging systems.
- 1.3 If you are banned, it is not permitted to get back to the SWGEmu Network on an alternate account. You may contact a SWGEmu Community Service Representative or an SWGEmu Administrator to discuss the nature of your ban and its duration via email or private message. Email phantomleader@swgemu.com if you feel a ban has been issue unfairly.
- 1.4 You may not attempt to acquire a password, other account information, or other private information from a Member or any other user on the SWGEmu Network. Remember: SWGEmu staff members will NEVER ask for your password. Do not give out your password to anyone.
- 1.5 Users under the age of 13 may only create an account to access the SWGEmu Network with the expressed permission of their Parent / Guardian under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act 1998.
- 1.6 Account names and all subsequent user names must be appropriate and must not conflict with the Conduct Guidelines or Use Policy of the service in which the user name is involved. Inappropriate naming conventions are covered in, but not limited to, the subjects mentioned in section 2.4 of this document.
- 1.7 All account and hence user activity on the SWGEmu Test Centre(s) are subject to the SWGEmu Test Centre Rules and Policies, not transcribed in this document. Please view our rules portal at http://www.swgemu.com/rules to view the said document.
2. WEBSITE AND FORUM CONDUCT GUIDELINES
In the interest of maintaining a constructive and equal environment for everyone, all users of the SWGEmu Forums and Website may not:
- 2.1 Post, transmit, promote, or distribute Content that is illegal.
- 2.2 Harass, threaten, or making personal attacks against another Member or guest. This includes: repeatedly sending them unwanted messages, attacking their race, sexual orientation, religion, heritage, and cussing or insulting them personally.
- 2.3 Transmit or facilitate distribution of Content (including images or videos) that is harmful, abusive, racially or ethnically offensive, or overtly sexual.
- 2.4 Troll, which we define as posts or threads, which knowingly lead to overly strong negative and emotional responses for mere shock value, are not allowed on the SWGEmu forums. Constant personal attacks are also considered trolling.
- 2.5 Posts deemed inappropriate to a particular forum will be moved to a more appropriate forum. This is done to facilitate proper communication on the forums and allow for the flow of conversation.
- 2.6 Posts that have been removed are not to be reposted.
- 2.7 Impersonate another person (including celebrities), indicate falsely that you are a SWGEmu Staff Member or a representative of any other community, or attempt to mislead users by indicating that you represent SWGEmu or any of SWGEmu's affiliates.
- 2.8 Upload any software or Content that you do not own or have permission to freely distribute.
- 2.9 Promote or encourage any illegal activity including hacking, "web raiding" or distribution of counterfeit software.
- 2.10 Upload files that contain a virus or corrupted data.
- 2.11 Modify any part of the SWGEmu Network Service or any SWGEmu website that the SWGEmu Team does not specifically authorize you to modify.
- 2.13 Post any user’s real-world personal information without his or her expressed permission.
- 2.14 Attempt to interfere with, hack into to or disrupt functionality from the servers which contribute to the SWGEmu Network.
- 2.15 Upload or transmit over the SWGEmu Network, or on the official Forums or any and all official websites, any copyrighted content that you do not own all rights to.
- 2.16 Discuss the legality of the SWGEmu Project, the Sun Crusher Server, or any of SWGEmu's affiliated communities and their respective services.
- 2.17 Spam, defined as the posting of content which repeatedly. Spam includes QFE's without explanation, +1's, Bumps and "In Before Lock"s.
- 2.18 Advertise or attempt to sell products for profit. Only products authorised by SWGEmu may be advertised for sale.
- 2.19 Modify, Copy, Rerelease, Edit or Change the Design, Content or Imagery featured on the SWGEmu Website and Forums. The code base for the SWGEmu Website is the proprietary property of the WiseMon Team. The SWGEmu Forum code base is the proprietary property of Jellsoft Enterprises Ltd.
- 2.20 Promote, Advise the use of or use yourself the Star Wars Galaxies Trial Client, or any other illegal client versions, to connect to the SWGEmu Test Centre(s). Only legitimate, commercial versions of Star Wars Galaxies may be used.
- 2.21 Discuss or inquire about the status of the SWGEmu Test Centre(s). The status is available on the Launchpad Enhanced, the SWGEmu IRC Network (#test channel), and the Community Service Announcements forum.
- 2.22 Double posts, defined as a series of posts by the same author posted in succession in a single thread without interruption, may be merged to facilitate proper conversation flow and reduce forum clutter.
3. CODE SUBMISSION AND OPEN SOURCE CONTRIBUTION CONDITIONS
SWGEmu is an open source community project, managed by the "SWGEmu Team" or "Staff". To submit code to the SWGEmu Code Base ("Core3"), users must accept to the following conditions:
- 3.1 Any source code You contribute to SWGEmu will be submitted under, and subject to, the .
- 3.2 You are responsible for including all applicable copyright notices and licenses with Your Submissions, and that You assume the risks of failing to do so, including the potential loss of Your rights to Your Submissions.
- 3.3 You are fully responsible for all of your submissions and all claims arising out of them are your liability, not the liability of the "Hosts" (SWGEmu, Assembla, Trac)
- 3.4 SWGEmu do not claim ownership of your submissions. However, in order to fulfill the purposes of the SWGEmu Project, You must give SWGEmu, its appointed agents, and all users the right to post, access, evaluate, discuss, publish, disseminate and refine Your Submissions.
- 3.5 "Engine3" and all source code therein is the proprietary property of SWGEmu Team, and may not be used, modified, or shared without the expressed permission of SWGEmu.
- 3.6 All Submissions must abide by the SWGEmu Code Standard Guidelines, as set forth at http://public.swgemu.com
- 3.7 SWGEmu and its Team are under no obligation to accept all code submissions.
4. LEGAL NOTES
4.1 Disclaimer of Warranties. YOUR USE OF THE SITE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. THE SITE, INCLUDING ALL MATERIALS FOUND ON IT, IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS," "AS AVAILABLE" AND "WITH ALL FAULTS" BASIS. THE HOSTS DISCLAIM ALL EXPRESS OR IMPLIED CONDITIONS, REPRESENTATIONS, AND WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OR CONDITION OF MERCHANTABILITY, SATISFACTORY QUALITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NONINFRINGEMENT.
