First of all, thanks to the Dev's and Mods. Not for the outcome of this issue necessarily, but for showing showing some consideration to the community and their opinion. This is something that SOE didn't really do, and many are still have a bad taste in their mouths from it. You have nothing to bve sorry about from your end. Many on both sides have much to be ashamed about in their own behavior in this thread, however. We realize that not everyone can be made happy, but we are all have the same overall goal of a Pre-CU SWG server. To that end, I hope we can all work together.

If you guys decided to do a server wipe tomorrow or not, I would still be thankful for having a place to play SWG until the job is done.

<3 people who have no clue about a subject. hey if you make a post that is condescending, then it makes you sound right? sorry doesn't work all the time.

it IS a statistic impossiblity in a poll, for even a 50% choice get 20 votes in a row(in 20 seconds no less).

now when we are talking an option that previously was at 10% getting every single one of them, its not even a question. sorry. sound even meaner next post and you might trick us.

I think the US should send in some marines and tomahawk missiles to bring democracy in here. Liberate us!

waa 04-27-2010 04:11 PM

Its not even about yes or no,

its about offering up a vote then throwing it all out the window

What if it had been 60% yes, 40% no and they decided to wipe?

See the principle of it?

Its not about the %, its about giving the voting process the big Saddam Hussein middle finger.

I would have support the outcome either way, but ignoring the results and/or not correcting the mistakes of screwed results is a disgrace

Jouninxj2 04-27-2010 04:12 PM

Um...so there's a majority to wipe twice and you're not going to do it? What was the point of this whole thing then. This is a test server, wipes happen.

dorrick 04-27-2010 04:12 PM

It's hilarious people haven't figured out this whole project is a big scam.

Katt 04-27-2010 04:12 PM

Thank you for a quick end to this matter. I was worried the poll was going to take weeks to resolve.

AlphaDawg 04-27-2010 04:13 PM

Ultimately it was their ,(EMU Team's), choice! They didn't have to post a poll to get our feedback! They did though and some people cheat or whatever happened,! didn't really pay much attention to it. It really isn't that big a deal, the sky isn't falling. It will be wiped soon enough. So relax and enjoy what we have.

I haven't either, but it's because all my harvs are invisible and I can't access them. :(

Too bad about the wipe.

Thanks again for your hard work, Devs!

thecapn2004 04-27-2010 04:18 PM

dupers win I guess.

kookaburra 04-27-2010 04:18 PM

At this point I don't believe there was any possibility of a wipe.

This was a ruse to satisfy complaints of cheats and exploits and they had no clue the community would vote in this manner.

I agree.

Bulbous 04-27-2010 04:19 PM

Now, now, children! This is not a time for anger, but for joyous celebration! The server ISN'T getting wiped for no developmental reason whatsoever! This is a good thing!

Ivoh 04-27-2010 04:19 PM

When your ass has **** on it, you wipe it.
When dupers turn the server to ****...you should wipe it :O not a hard concept.
Im pissed because they promised a wipe if the majority got the vote, the vast majority got it, and instead of keeping the promise, they tell us "Nevermind"...

Probably won't be back now till the OR wipe for the most part. Barely logging in anymore as it is.

so glad I started getting things in order because I took this polling seriously.
so glad nothing's being fixed with the economy.
so glad the majority of us lose out here.

so glad.

Zetch 04-27-2010 04:22 PM

Although I am disapointed, I must say thanks to the devs for at least trying to get everybodys opinion. There will always be somebody unhappy but either way, thanks for at least trying to give us a chance devs. It showed you care about the community.

Have fun gang.

This mindset right here just bothers the ***k out of me. So basically,

-you're here only to play a free game and kill some time until something else comes along.

-you're not really a contributing member of the community

-you really don't care about this game or this project

-you're selfish

-you won't be missed

-good riddance...

Again I ask just one thing of the Devs after making us feel like they have.

You said this did not go as you expected.

Please explain exactly what you expected that didn't happen to the point you shunned the majority of your community.

Basically it was put to us as which would we enjoy more a wipe or no wipe. We said a wipe but obviously there is something that made everything you said and our opinions mean nothing. Enlighten us so we are on the same page? or was that just as much BS as the 2 polls that got placed and then ignored?

roocey 04-27-2010 04:22 PM

I guess people forget this isn't a democracy. It is a public forum and project headed by a volunteer group (STAFF/Devs).

The polls, from what I understand, were to gather opinions. In the first poll, they (STAFF/Devs) clearly realized they hadn't provided enough information and decided to give us a second chance.

The second poll was far more detailed, unfortunately trolls, children, and multiple account spammers ruined it for the rest of us (as detailed in the OP). The community, as mentioned earlier, really showed its colors.

They haven't spelled doom out to us. They have just chosen to wait a couple more months for a wipe, which was the plan the entire time anyways. I hate to sound like a fanboy, but seriously, some of you are just being silly.

And to top it all off, I don't even remember them promising a wipe if the majority voted yes. I seem to recall it was more of a "we will only wipe if the majority is 66% or higher to do it." I don't remember, "we will, most certainly, wipe the server if the majority to do so is 66% or higher."

And by the way, this is nothing compared to SOE's disasters. Think back. Those of you who decided to keep playing through the CU might just remember a certain poll for the NGE. See how well that went? lol

Guess I won't play a game that has **** all over it.

Once it's wiped I'll be back.

Anyone who reaches me ingame on Seaweed can have all my "NON"duped money.

The past few days have been crazy around here. We took this polling endeavor seriously and we were hoping for a better outcome. However, the team has been bombarded with concerns and questions by the community over the wipe poll and the possible outcomes. Therefore, due to voting disparities with new accounts, adverse affect on the community of the polling process, and unaddressed issues, we are calling off the poll and the possibility of a wipe. We will stick to the original statement and wipe for the OR when the time comes. As always, we are committed to providing you all with a solid community and game environment. We thought that holding this poll would give the community a voice and a chance at a little more participation.

What we now realize is it may cause more damage then good in the end. To our entire community, we are sorry if this poll in any way affected you adversely, and we will assure you that a similar situation will not happen in the future.

The SWGEmu Team.

It's a sad day when those of us that got what we have the right way have to play in an environment where dupers have ruined the economy of the game and we have to pay the consequences. I'm dissapointed that those that did this have gotten what they wanted with absolutely no repercussions whatsoever and will be able to continue their ruination of the game until the OR. We had the chance to fix it and could not pull together enough to get it done.

Posting a thread with a poll and then disregarding it isn't anything but the facade of considering the community's opinions.

Oh the flashbacks...

From another point of view, whining majority lost. So what?
I'm happy with the outcome that the Devs let the dead horse be the dead horse and continue with OR.
Because all effort putting in the work for the wipe will now return to where it should be first place. And in the end we just ALL win. Plain and simple.

The effort to wipe the server isn't really time consuming. So if they went with it, it wouldn't have interfered with the OR.

Hey at least they let us vote before telling us our opinion doesn't matter.

I guess thats kind of a step up from SOE right?

I wonder whats gonna happen in the future if a few people decide they want Jedi to be a starting class and the majority of the community votes against it....

dizmull 04-27-2010 04:29 PM

rofl this makes me wanna not play now lol . and i didnt care for either a wipe or till the OR is done.
