Wasn't expecting the QQ explosion. But eh, I guess that's how it is. I'm sure those of us who actually don't mind are busy playing or surfing the boards when we should be working! :D

Also.. Epic fail.

srsly wow.

Eeslesrik 04-27-2010 02:29 PM

Take a second and re-read the posts after the OP in the poll thread. The immaturity of the community was brought out in full color; the called off poll was a respectable decision and I am glad the Dev team is willing to accept the flames for giving into this fiasco.

Props to the devs and +1 internets.

Pfft. Just dupe your resources. ;D

I've got like 4 Bliq left over. I can rebuild my empire!

MarlonB 04-27-2010 02:29 PM

At least show us all how to dupe then .. so we are on even playing field :)

That wasn't the only poll. You had multiple polls which all indicated that the majority wanted a wipe. If you're going to ignore the community why bother even having polls in the first place?

SWG has always had a huge vocal community. In the end, wipe or not wipe. The community is still damaged. Guess the developers have to go to damage control now.

Caelera 04-27-2010 02:31 PM

Thank you. I actually voted yes (without frogs) but after continuing to follow the thread regarding the poll, I actually wished I had voted no. I am glad you made this decision. There were just too many questions about the integrity of the poll.

The Devs ask our opinion and they are greeted with extremely childish behavior.. Thank you Devs for attempting to ask our mature opinions and my apologies that you received so few of them and that what did occur was a travesty.

TayTayMay 04-27-2010 02:32 PM

I didn't know there was an electoral college for the Emu.

It was like 75%/25%, then the new accounts started being made and the "no"s start to go up. The dupers duped so they could win again.

/facepalm for encouraging them

Mecho 04-27-2010 02:32 PM

Dammed if they do, dammed if they don't.
Tough call either way, at least the wipe for the OR isn't that far away....one hopes! That's the wipe I really look forward to! :)

Joshino 04-27-2010 02:33 PM

Tbh tho this will do the most damage to the community /facepalm.

galena 04-27-2010 02:33 PM

I appreciate the time devs spent listening to our concerns and cant blame them for this even though i voted yes. What really is a big problem is the communities attitude, we got to this point because some people feel the need to cheat in the game and who dont care about the health of the game. When everyone is given an option as to whether they feel that they want a wipe. Some douchebags start effectively exploiting the voting system so that their view is the one that ends up being taken whether the majority agree with them or not. Without a statistic of how many votes were for/against by accounts of say < 2 days we cannot know whether these people were trying to get the wipe instigated or aborted but whichever it was they are just as much a disgrace as the dupers that got us here in the first place.

d3vilsfury 04-27-2010 02:34 PM

lol

that is all

keloch 04-27-2010 02:34 PM

Why didnt they just make a poll that none of the kiddies could QQ in?! A regular poll without anything else!

Is there any way to remove your account?

Valdosemu 04-27-2010 02:34 PM

let the Duping Continue!

Who wants to buy my holo for 100 mil?

Valac 04-27-2010 02:42 PM

"3. We will only wipe if there is a 66% majority to wipe."
"If the outcome is that 66% or greater votes to wipe, we will wipe the server."

Well, everyone know that the result was 66.36% for wipe when the poll was closed.

Nevertheless, as a new player, this whole mess seemed rather pointless and stupid. Why to put such poll(s), if you are not even gonna stick with them? I would had been happy as things are right now, no wipe etc, heck, I don't even know how bugged the whole economy and all the other stuff are.

Personally I voted for the wipe without any freaking frogs. Now this just leaves bad taste about how things are being handled; give false hopes and then go like this. It's like promising kid he can have money when he does his homework and then when it's done, you say, "sorry, I started to think that you'd only buy candies with those money, so no money for you".

I cannot really comment how things were and are, this is just how I see it by new player's eyes. And I thought the rules were strict on the poll, but I guess I was mistaken. Hopefully things will be different in the future.

FaTaL_eRRoR 04-27-2010 02:42 PM

huh, well....i thought there was more than 66% for yes...be consistent then and wipe i'd say!

guess i don't have much right to speak since i only started a few days ago, but i really hate trying to lvl up and make money with all this inflation and duped items ppl alrdy have...kinda sux tbh

Surely that's exactly what just happened here? The economic damage persists?

66.36% say yes and you decide against it. Love you Americans and your ideas about voting, never ceases to amaze me :D

I am a person who RESPECTS the admins decisions at every turn. They know more about the project than I ever will so I trust their judgement. If there is a wipe then I am of the opinion that it is their call to make.

I am so glad that my friends toons will not be wiped. It's not about the credits, equipment, jedi etc for me......you might call me 'sad' but I identify real world people with the toons on the test server and to delete them is to delete friends. I know they wont be around forever but to lose everyone I have met here since December.......I'm honestly not sure how i could deal with that.

The only person the dupers cheat is themselves.

Kainzo 04-27-2010 02:46 PM

Thanks for letting us know whats going on! We appreciate your hard work. being one of "on the fencers" it didn't matter either way, I just wanted clarity and a decision!

relentless890 04-27-2010 02:46 PM

the majority becomes the neglected minority

mugenpovver 04-27-2010 02:48 PM

Yeah wow ..that's pretty sad its their words they can change anything they want...but way to get our hopes up and fail to stick to the poll...NICE

Kainzo 04-27-2010 02:49 PM

is it possible to still disable the banks?

BigEvil 04-27-2010 02:49 PM

Hmmf......oh well.....just gonna keep grinding my doc

Whats the world coming to when you cant get a buff in Cnet hospital?

Lets just get back in there and play....gotta get a bagillion credits to get my new CDEF Pistol

jjDraGiN 04-27-2010 02:49 PM

Im laughing my azz off now bc you will lose half your community now either ay because you know how many people gave **** out? u know how many holocrons were givin out... THIS

is it really that big of a deal? because they didnt listen to a premature wipe, they're gonna do it again anyways, id rather them DO NOTHING about the TC and finish up the OR then wipe it for the appeasement of hte masses

Ehh damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Special and more important question:
Joshino: WTF is that picture? Cannot compute.

morris.man 04-27-2010 02:51 PM

SWG is cursed when it comes to dealing with whatever community plays it.

Domikraus 04-27-2010 02:51 PM

this thread is full of anger :o eeevil ghost eeeeeeevil ghost !

-DominioN- 04-27-2010 02:51 PM

This will probably sound bad to many but don't you think telling us how much our opinion matters then going against your own word TWICE and telling us our opinion does not matter in the end is going to be more adverse than a bunch of whining hackers not getting their way would have been? Feels like a slap in the face after all the post reading and deciding and such to just tell us in the end you never wanted it to happen anyways? Tell us something, if it did not go as you expected then what did you expect. I think we all deserve the answer to that one.

And did you not read how a 66.6% majority was needed for a wipe? This was a righteous decision.

GOOD JOB DEVS! Forget this nonsense, and roll on with the OR. Then will we wipe this sandbox and get on with the real work!!!

spydirus 04-27-2010 02:52 PM

There should have never even been consideration. Thankfully the devs saw the issue. Finish the work you are so well working at then wipe it when a live server is ready.

For all those who are *****ing about the game cause you are broke, just do what I did, grind a profession and dedicate time to loot. It is really not that hard.

Kainzo 04-27-2010 02:52 PM

Glad I was able to gather 5 holocron during the "THE SKY IS FALLING CAUSE THERES A POLL UP!"
