TC:Nova Wipe 10/3/2010

At approximately 6:00 PM EST, TC:Nova was wiped of the following items:
  • All Characters
  • All Inventories
  • All Structures & Cities
  • All Auctions/Banks
  • All Datapads (includes vehicles/waypoints/etc)
  • All Resource Spawns
We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and hope you understand this is a necessary step as the project progresses. More specifically, this was done to prevent errors and problems occurring in the client caused by the existence of over 270 cities placed galaxy-wide. There is now a limit of 20 cities per planet. Thank your for all of your support and happy testing!

Vlada 10-03-2010 06:26 PM

I didnt even notice.

Jubba 10-03-2010 06:27 PM

No problem. Thanks for the update!

Eenu 10-03-2010 06:31 PM

Guys please don't play this game for a while if you expect your character to stick around for any length of time

corbaer 10-03-2010 06:40 PM

270 cities per planet would suck any way... lol.

Omegataco 10-03-2010 06:43 PM

All of your cities are belong to me!

Sonno 10-03-2010 07:14 PM

Someone keeps stealing my land and I'm not happy about it.

cpuman 10-03-2010 07:18 PM

i personally think its not a bad thing to have a limit, makes it more like official and also makes the cities more populated.

raidoner 10-03-2010 08:01 PM

Oh wow, this reminds me of the Oklahoma territory run!

BlazeHoliday 10-03-2010 08:05 PM

The wipe wars have begun!

hakry 10-03-2010 08:45 PM

RagnarokStrike 10-03-2010 08:59 PM

Great news!

fatherjack 10-03-2010 09:00 PM

Totally understandable and expected. Thanks for all the hard work dev team. It is so awesome that this server and idea even exists. I have really gotten back into SWG lately on the emu server and I am loving it!

monkeypye 10-03-2010 09:15 PM

Appreciate the update :)

We can never be updated enough, in my opinion.

Shouldn't use the name Bob anyway

Kyrm347 10-04-2010 06:01 AM

It gives us an opportunity to plant houses and installations again and perhaps narrow down the causes of some of the structure bugs that have been occurring. All good for testing and project progress.

Thanks Dame for the update :)

Mecinia Lu-a 10-04-2010 07:06 AM

I must admit when I logged on weekend I wondered how we supported so many cities, and the server was up and down touch and go, the wipe was needed.

studrandbo 10-04-2010 07:14 AM

naboo was outrageously funny with all those cities. hahah. anyways, DAME you looked HOT at the old nova wipe party.

Ama-Ebi 10-04-2010 09:17 AM

Thanks for the update and all the hard work. I've already noticed some of the bugs cleared up with this latest wipe. /hi5

Shueisha 10-04-2010 11:22 AM

270 Cities, hahaha

tomis16 10-04-2010 12:18 PM

Appreciate this, I totally expected the wipes, so no problem. Keep it up!

karvermimic 10-04-2010 03:22 PM

I hope no one actually expected their characters altered by Blue Frogs and 20,000,000 credits would be kept.

Thanks team, for the work on making the game fully functional. I personally can't wait for Bio-Engineers

EVILJUDE 10-04-2010 03:37 PM

best practice, expect a wipe every day (not saying it would ever happen like this) but if you expect it, then you will never be disappointed if it doesn't and when it does, you should be like "oh, i was expecting this today, so no surprise.".....

Same thing happened to me, but I was able to recover it only because my forum account name is Mahonra as well.

But don't worry too much about it. There will be more wipes and each time you will have the chance to grab your name back.

That's more than the number of cities across all SOE's servers isn't it?

tehmulletman 10-04-2010 05:49 PM

yeah wasnt the limit like 4-5 to a planet or something?

Updates are allways welcome and with all the good work and progress the devs made (according to mantis and the assembla-timeline) with the OR the last days a wipe too :-)

Tatooine, Corellia and Naboo had a limit of 20 I believe

Rori, Dantooine, Lok had a limit of 10.

If I remember right. (Though it could be 10 and 5).

I know the three main ones had a higher limit than the smaller ones.

I've checked several cities, no way those have the miniminal limits of 10 residents and even higher to get the shuttleports etc :). I'm not sure those limits are in place right now.

My own city sunk into Rori's ground on my test :)
