278....

The magic number.

Our server hit 278 clients in ONE AREA.

This is quite an accomplishment, considering the Live used clustered servers couldn't handle 100 people in a small area.

We did it with ONE SINGLE MACHINE.

And did I mention there was almost NO LAG AT ALL.

Oru and TheAnswer = the pwnleetsauce.

Thanks to everyone who came on to test. We will continue doing tests so hang around in #test or here to get info on when the server will be up.

EDIT:

Just because I've had a few requests, the server stats are as follows.

CORE 2 DUO 6300
2GB DDR2 RAM
400GB SATA Drive.
100MBIT Connection.

Very nice job. The lack of lag with so many people amazes me.

Amazing how a few hours of logging in/out and 5 or so combat commands can feel better than a year of NGE. Been so long since I've used /unarmedhit3 in real combat. Keep up the great work. /kowtow.

I was very impressed with the dev's work. There are some connectivity issues to work on but once you are in, almost no lag. When everyone was in the MO at th very end spamming I experienced negligible server lag. It was amazing. Connectivity issues aside, much better than SOE's servers. I now have every faith that this team will restore SWG to its former glory and I can't wait to see what is next.

That's good and all but the testing could've been organized alot cleaner than you were going by. Next time you go doing a stress test like that again try allowing 50 people in, then hold off, and let 100 people, then 150 people etc. so that your login server is not being hammered the entire time of the testing. So that it's not crashing over and over. GJ tho.

I'd wager a guess that this is definitely one thing they wanted included in the test - hundreds hammering the server at once to see how well it held up.

The real life conditions won't be too organized, so why would they try to keep things orderly in a stress test of all things?
