It's the simplification of the code to allow up-and-coming Devs to contribute to the project. The name mislead me too when I first came here. I thought they were talking about buildings and harvesters.

The bad password issue is related to the login server being down. The login server and Test Center are on different boxes.

Erm i where working , just got home now-i cant login to the server but forum say its up-Anyone knows whats the prob? As i said i was working so i dont realy have a clue what was going on the last hours. thanks for answering

yeah this update is huge but i was just wondering if we maybe had another big update in between now and the OR if it was around 2-3 months away

There are 3 possibilities when considering TC status:

1) Up - All indications report Test Center "Up" and you can log in properly.

2) Down - LPE hangs on "Connecting to Galaxy" indefinitely. Indicators show "Down"

3) Deadlocked - Indicators report Test Center "Up", however LPE responds like server down.

Deadlock, again, means that two processes are awaiting one another to finish. Simply put, it's a bug. As you faithful Emu'ers log in and start playing with the new patch, you expose new bugs, some of these deadlock the server. Our guys bring it down, check the logs, and attempt to fix it (unless they have class, a boss yelling at them, or screaming kids to tend to).

So, in this case, it's probably deadlocked. Chances are it will change again in minutes, and continue to do this through the next few days. No need to keep posting asking the question.

Yeah, Nvm me. I was still under the impression that whoever was responsible for the DOS attack tried again for the server. Now I know betta .

You know, must be a crap load of bugs cause the server isn't up for more than 15 minutes at a time really...its nuts. I noticed after one restart that random spawns were less focused around main cities and there are now faction oriented random spawns. Any chance faction missions might make their way in later?

In short, the three main priorities are school, work, and family. Only those three cases override the priviledge of being here, working daily. Needless to say, the STAFF are constantly subject to potential setbacks, delaying things more than what you might count on. These people have lives.
Also since the server is undergoing such a fluxuation, half of my logic says it's not a good idea for everyone to mass-login, but the other half says that the more people that try, the more pressure the server has, and thus the more efficiently the STAFF can fortify the server.
