You go to a webpage. It says "Hello World" and is made with just HTML. This is a hard coded website.

You go to Ebay. You search for an item. It searches it's database for all current listings that relate to the keyword you entered and displays a custom webpage that was created on the fly just for you. This is an example of a dynamic webpage.

Now here's how this relates to crafting in the emulator. If crafting were hard coded you would enter the crafting tool select a schematic and insert the resources. You use really horrible resources. You make the item and for some reason it has perfect stats! It was hard coded to make a perfect item and does not change any stats no matter how good or bad the resources were.
Ah thanks for clearing that, I'm not really a guru when it comes to code lol.

So let me reiterate:
I'm sure theres a lot more to code, but its awesome progress none-the-less!!

Tow'lin Tow

Yeah, I'm a bit confused as well. It sounds like crafting is finally working, but alot of progress needs to still be made within it.

Nope. The first mechanics of crafting seem to have been worked out. Lots left to be done. Space isn't even on the radar at this point. There's a ton left to do with the professions still, as well as xp, work on creature/npc AI, etc. Not to mention the tireless work on bug-busting.

First steps of crafting though... how cool huh? We've waited years for that.

log on and create a smuggler so you can do some slicing. I never played one myself until I had to create one on the emu TC to slice my armor and weapons a few weeks ago.

well crafting, space, player cities / housing, guilds, missions, quests, etc etc... whilst we have made many incredible leaps and bounds, we're not out the woods yet, although i foresee many more stunning advances continuing to arise.
