[NOVA] Service Interruption and Database Wipe 1/23/09

Hello Everybody.

On Thursday, January 22, at 11:30 AM EST Nova Test Centre was taken down for server maintenance and a normal SVN update up to revision 1194.

This update is still in progress. There have been numerous setbacks which have called for the complete reinstall of our Test Centre operating system.

Once the updates, reinstalls and fixes are complete, we will launch the Test Centre, however it may remain unavailable while we complete final testing.

Included in this update will be:

Medic and Combat Medic
  • Added Area handling for pharmaceutics
  • Added Combat Medic Ranged and Area Stimpacks

  • mySQL Server Complete reinstall and update
As noted, this Update will include a FULL DATABASE WIPE. Please help your fellow players when they freak out. Tell them to remain calm, have a glass of milk, and eat their cookies.

We are sincerely sorry for the inconvenience. It was an unforseen event which Oru is working very hard to fix up. Please, at some time today, drop into #opendev and say "THANK YOU ORU!". It's the least we can do for him spending his whole day working.

Thankyou for your patience.

Thumbs up

Tis a good thing to see more updates coming....

The database wipe, some may not like, but it is a "Test Center" after all.

Thanks to Oru for all his hard work maintaining the server. Its unfortunate that an entire reinstall was needed, as that is quite a bit of work.

And of course a big "Thanks" to all involved in keeping the dream alive, and giving us back the game that we paid for. I was one of the Beta testers for the original Galaxies, its so nice to be one again, and to see it returning to its former glory. Down with the NGE !
