Just guessing:



Assuming every coding aspect requires equal work ammount and the effort of the devs is the same over the whole development process. And we all know, that isnt true.

at the rate we're going now, i think it'll be out waaaaaaay before oct 09. i'm guessing next summer at the very latest

I know we shouldn't ask the devs for WHEN...
But, since the opensource project the speed of development went on real good.

Tempted to ask the magic question, when.. or how much left..


Guess soon as cell movment and house/structures and all profs work.. then it will be close..

It's the unseen things that are the biggest challenge for the Devs. Even though they've made a good deal of progress recently, I'd say that there's still a long way to go and a lot of work to get there. Personally, I don't want them to feel pushed to have a finished product before they actually feel they are finished.

I can agree with you in october 2009 will def be a alpha or a beta, I think its premature thou to say we will see a launch till we see how many bugs we rack up after everything is ingame.

im gonna agree with it will prolly be sooner at the pace it has been moving lately, things are really speeding up but i wouldnt make any predictions either i just think from what i have seen it might be sooner then expected

I'm with you on that. It's rapidly approaching an alpha or beta state. But working out details and bugs on the necessary stuff for launch will probably take months. And the team has stated in the past that they don't want to launch a buggy game that needs a lot of patching. So I think beta will last a long time. But I'm looking forward to a beta galaxy where we can do almost everything.

A house is just a pile of stuff with a cover on it. You can see that when you're taking off in an airplane. You look down, you see everybody's got a little pile of stuff. All the little piles of stuff. And when you leave your house, you gotta lock it up. Wouldn't want somebody to come by and take some of your stuff. They always take the good stuff. They never bother with that crap you're saving. All they want is the shiny stuff. That's what your house is, a place to keep your stuff while you go out and get...more stuff!

Sometimes you gotta move, gotta get a bigger house. Why? No room for your stuff anymore.

its a great easy way to keep up to date and you're slowly (well it isnt even slow considering you do it for free and out of your own time) and surely getting there

Awesome project. I just found out about this. I can't beleive this, SWG was the only mmorpg i ever played and i loved it. I have tried other titles such as wow but nothing ever lived up to what swg was.

How finished is this? I noticed the graph above said about 80 percent.

Thanks For giving us swg fans something to look forward to.

You can see status on the first page of this thread.
But after all coding work it will be much work of tuning ballance and final bugfixes.
