Visit the New and Improved SWGEmu Website now at www.swgemu.com!

This is the first time ever that SWGEmu has had a complete, stylish and fully featured web front end. It includes information which will help people get online and playing faster than ever; no more searching through hundreds of forums and FAQs for a set up guide, simply hit Getting Started, and jump right on board.

The integrated IRC client is also working, under the Community section. Make sure you have Java enabled and click "trust" when prompted to launch the in-page client.

The website also show Test Centre status on the left hand side. Click it for more info.

The most important aspect of the website is undoubtedly the multi-language support built in. As our community expands, we will be adding more languages, with the help of community members who are willing to act as translators. Currently, English and Russian are the two most complete language settings. If you are fluent in another language (mostly european languages), contact _DM_, our web developer, to assist us with translation.

Enjoy the site, and remember to thanks _DM_ and his team at WiseMon's Laboratory for the immense amount of work they have put into it.

Don't know if its me or not, i bookmarked the page and , even when it says english us , i got it in russian :p. just repicked us again, and fixed. But maybe its a minor bug with the cookie or somethign.

Sorry, that's was a sketch template which was grew up to complete website.
I was planned fully crossbrowser template for 0.2, but if I'll have a free time I will done it in 0.1.

1. one issue - new transmissions link - http://www.swgemu.com/?module=News&action=ShowAdd can be followed, though it wont allow for posting, imho - this should be disabled and posts should only be available from the back end.

2. why go through the trouble of writing all that PhP code, to develop the website, when putting together a template in CSS, throwing a graphic around it, and writing a plug-in or two for WordPress would have sufficed. I mean even The New York Times Co. uses the thing, it has an amazing back end, great support, and is all around a wonderful open source project.

3. The colours of the site are nothing like the forums, hence it makes it seem like you're leaving one site to get to another - when navigating from the forums to the site and vice versa - this is simply an aesthetics thing however, but it would be nice to have the two of them synonymous.

Other than that, all's well :)

It was amazing to see a new website and forums just for that, but people will never change.

They had to make threads or posts with something like "OMG April fools joke GJ" to inform us that they're not that stupid because they know about it, how stupid.

It was clearly a good idea, too bad it was ruined !

There are several Pre-Cu emulating teams. A New Home, Galaxy Reborn, but SWGEmu is the farthest along I believe.

I think the third team is like Persistent Worlds or Persistent something I can't remember. I don't even know if they're still going though.

I dont think they use the same code, and even if they take SWGEmu code so what?

Slight off topic, I'm sorry. But, why would they take the code for Core3?

Core3 uses Engine3; unless they made a whole new engine from the ground up to make close to what Engine3 has so that they can USE Core3 RIGHT, it wouldn't be worth it. Engine3 is closed-source while Core3 is open, so really, there'd be no point in using Core3's code since you wouldn't be able to build upon it unless you could edit Engine3 to add additions, for instance like SWGEmu continues to do now.

On topic however, well, would this dicussion even be considered on topic? Honestly I haven't seen many updates from either of the other "teams". I do believe SWGEmu is definitely more stable, even as a community.
