Some people may experience difficulties logging in today due to an error with the mySQL database losing connection to the server. The error message you will probably receive should be...

"Bad Password: Either you have mistyped your password, or this account is already in use."

Please bare with us as we strive to correct these issues. There is currently no ETA as to when it will be available. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Also the server is deadlocked - which means it appears online, but is actually online. Nasty I know. Wait it out - everything will be A-OKAY!

Doing what you said will not change that. The server can't know your login information if it can't find the mySQL database and so will think it's a bad login until it can find it.

Ok ... it seems that my cap lock was on... i turned it off and entered my info and it was a nogo.
I restarted the launch pad with caplocks already off and bam... no more issues! (just in case it helps anyone else)

I've been trying to log in since 2PM CST, but while it shows the server up here, launchpad show's it down. When I put in my information, the status bar just scrolls, but never gets anywhere.

Unfortunately the server is down at the moment, most likely for updates :)
You can check when the server is up on the Launchpad or at the top of the website

At the moment both the Launchpad and website are saying that the server is down, however i have managed to log on
The problem is with the server information, not the actual test server

We had this problem before, everyone is affected by it, it is a problem with a log on server. Your accounts are not in use, its a bug. You don't need to post about it anymore.

You just need to be patient.

Calm down, a big part of these forums are bug reports and that's what people are doing so don't be so high maintenance bro ;)

It's actually not really a bug either, it's just downtime. The forum rules clearly prohibit threads about server status so users have good reason to be miffed, although expressing it the way they do often doesn't help. In cases such as these when it's not clear to new users that the issue is actually caused by the server being down (ie deadlocks and login server issues) we're a little bit more patient.

If you can't post something constructive, don't post at all. I understand your frustration with multiple posts about this, but the forums are here for people to communicate with. When it's an issue like this, as a CSR said, they're a little more patient with people. If the CSR's are patient with people in this sort of situation, where there's no real information about whether the server is having trouble, or the people in question are having trouble, you should be too.

Not everyone reads every post made on every thread, particularly when they're just looking for quick answers, so they're going to skip over places where the question HAS been answered from time to time.

Honestly, an announcement section that was updated when something IS wrong with the server, so people could stop banging their heads on the wall would go a long way to alleviate the problem, and make your somewhat snide posts a little bit more warranted.

I know you're trying to help, but you come off the wrong way, and with new players, this is just going to drive them away... especially when they're just looking for answers. ;)

I have absolutely no resentment towards those who posted, but I think that perhaps, in the future, if the players of the test server want to address their issues, it would be wise to read through the whole topics. That doesn't require them to read every new topic on the forum, but it's like reading a book over an issue of yours rather than reading the synopsis.

And in the case that people complain about time issues, you've got time to spend playing an emulator project in production, right? You should also have time to spend learning the issues of said server. After all, the devs need y'all's input to keep progressing as they've been doing. Keeping the input orderly and knowing what you can about the issues goes a long way to help them know what they need to work on.

Once again, I'm not railing on anyone, I just presented an opinion that can be taken as people wish. Disregard my opinion if y'all feel you don't want it.

Server is still up and down as the nasty crashed are being logged and worked on.

In the meantime, we're still seeing the database problem affecting passwords on your accounts. There's nothing we can do but wait for it to get sorted out. Hang in there.

Same here, the website, my gadget and LPE are showing the server to be up. I even checked back with the guys in IRC to be sure the server isnt locked or anything.

Whenever I try to connect it gives me the Bad Password error. I am 100% sure I typed it right, no capitalization mistake or the likes. I tried to mistype both password and username intentially which results in a different error. I even tried to login leaving the account name/pw fields blank and do it right afterwards which didnt help either.

This is the first time I try to login to Nova but Ive been using this username/pw before Core3. Since other players manage to login I think it may be an issue with this account. Any help, ideas or input is greatly appreciated, feel free to PM me =)

If it says that server is ON LINE but you still cant connect server must be DEADLOCKED, it means its ON LINE just not accessible.

It can be scary some times.

First thing that comes to mind really is that is something wrong with your SWG or LPE installation, your internet connection or your computer.

Everything telling you you should be able to connect, when in fact you cant.

DEADLOCK can seriously mess things up.

For all those who have recently posted that they cannot connect ... it seems that the server is most likely deadlocked ... so you cannot log on, no one can ... server status reads Online, and if you go to this link (http://www.swgemu.com/?module=Status&action=Show), which is at the bottom of the SWGEmu website navigation bar to the left, you can see ... 4 players, server online, but YOU cannot log in = deadlock ...

Also, lots of great information in this thread ... good to read all the posts in thread before posting.

Some of us are adults with jobs and know how to treat others with respect. Seeing a small, vocal minority, parading around as though it's their god given mission to cause grief for others is laughable and sad. It is counter productive to everything this game stands for.

This isn't a new phenomenon, when repetition occurs, patience begins to wear thin. That being the case, why don't you self righteous forum spammers leave your attitude at the door before clicking 'reply' in the future.

Trolls are far worst than anything else. Their hostility scares new people away and you lose out on the opportunity of having intelligent people participate in constructive discussion. They're like some form of cancer.

No, it won't and creating multiple accounts is against the rules and can lead up to banning, if it is not already in itself a banable offense (meaning if it happens, you are banned, no if's, and's, but's, questions, warnings, etc)
